[RVRC] Special donation request

RVRC Members,

There was a healthy dialogue at the Wednesday night RVRC meeting about
continual access to the repeater site. Susan Lund was our guest that evening
and she ensured us that the RVRC repeaters will always have a home on her
property on West Rock Road. The estate has yet to be finalized and she has
taking on a job to make ends meet. There are some needs that are met through
the efforts of her and Kenny to manage things with plenty assist through
prayers.

Susan assured the members that nothing has changed since the repeater was
first installed on the property 30 years ago and she will make sure it stays
that way. As far as personal hardship this is not a new state for her, even
when Eric was amongst us they always found the means to make ends meet, She
did mention that the only members she sees lately have been the Nannery; s
and Craig. Rumors are floating around that she intends to forge the winter
on firewood alone because of lack of funds to purchase heating oil. Major
work is also being done to the water main feeding the property.

Kenny mentioned that the oil tank has been recently filled so they are fine
now and Susan is looking into accepting a boarder that could help defray
some of the cost. In any event she requires 3 tank fills to weather the
critical winter that's projected and she and Kenny will take care of that
need. The Vice President and Treasurer suggested that a heating oil fund
based on individual donations is something the club could do and the members
present thought that was a great idea and began donating to the fund.

has given us a home for or repeater at a great site and we can show our warm
appreciation.
