And this is an example of why RVRC is losing members and hardly gaining new ones, all this political quibbling and undermining each other all the time, spending money you don't have and not wanting to put effort into additional fundraising that I have been pushing for in the past. Who really wants to sit at meetings and listen to such counterproductive infighting and backstabbing? I even am considering not renewing my membership next January for reasons such as this among personal situations. So please keep acting the way you all are and soon this club will just fold into nothing.
  <smh in complete disgust!>

 RVRC MEMBERS;

To begin with I wish to express my strong approval for new
 memberships.
  .
Bringing new members is always a good foundation to operate
an amateur radio club.  But in this case, the procedure
is wrong.  (1) It is wrong on two counts; the RVRC
Constitution and by-laws specifically spell out the
requirement for two readings of the application.  The
purpose of this specification is to make the membership
familiar with the candidate.  It has always been the
RESPONSIBILITY of the SPONSORS to make their candidate(s)
known to the membership campaign and prove the candidates
qualification and suitability. (2) Then it is also important
for the candidate to attend those two readings so the
membership can become familiar with that candidate for whom
the sponsors are asking for membership acceptance and it
demonstrates a strong desire from the candidate to be an
 active member!
 .
The summary discharge and ignorance of the rules are
unacceptable!  What 'rules' will be next to be
violated?  The officers can not make such a
determination as to what 'rules' will be ignored or
violated.  If it is the determination of the majority
of voting members to suspend a rule....a vote must be
 taken.
 .
I object to this behavior of ignoring the Constitution and
By-Laws; if we don't like a rule, change it first.
 .
This candidate, Lee, K2EEI, sounds like he would make a
solid and valuable member.........but who knows?  The
sponsors are responsible to present their candidate to the
membership and the membership must have the opportunity to
know who it is they're voting for membership.
 .
If it is the desire of a voting member (full member) to
change our Constitution and/or By-Laws and eliminate such
requirements......then it must be submitted as such to the
membership, at a meeting, then the membership has an
 opportunity to decide by VOTE!

This issue is not a 'simple' issue. This is a major issue
 and violation of our rules.
