Crackdown on cell phone use to begin today through April;

Although it is April 1st, and traditionally ''April fools day''...........this came from WCTC news brief.

Be aware that this initiative has reportedly begun.  Most police officers will not recognize ham radio operation from cell phone use if this initiative is fact!  It is more than reasonable that you will be stopped if seen using your radio while driving.  The concept will be, naturally, issue summons and let the courts decide.  
No matter how it is viewed, it will be a costly matter to deal with; both from a matter of the time spent to fight it and the points gained on a driving record that will affect insurance premiums!!!

I can elaborate that if it is taken to court, judges normally side with police unless an attorney is present and convincing!  This is yet another potential cost!

I know this initiative will put a 'crimp' in mobile operation but...............be aware!
