Connie new blog

A dear friend of ours found the free service called CarePages a helpful way
to communicate updates about his spouse. The nurse today helping Connie
reminded me of it and suggested I take advantage of the PC they have in
their Patient & Family Resource Center for folks to use.

I created PITASBLOG in honor of Connie. PITA is one of the many pet names we
have for each other. Yes, it's an acronym!

We would like to use this as our primary way of communicating information to
our many dear friends and extended family. It's pretty painless. You have
to create a signon with a password, for security purposes. They ask for your
email address, gender, and postal (zip) code. Once you've signed on, you
can leave comments, either private (to me as page owner) or visible to
Connie's community.

That's all there is to it!

Please email me if you have issues with this.

Contemplating the terrible toll 12 years ago....praying for the dead and
their families while begging Father God to spare the life of my beloved
wife.

Our son, Kevin, spelled his big brother & spent the night with Mom. He
reports, "Status quo for the night. She got a bath around 2am
<x-apple-data-detectors://1> . Nurse Kitty changed out a bunch of lines (IV,
a line, sucking thingy, etc.). AM rounds complete with nothing new to
report. 'Giving her more time.' Chest x-ray now so I stepped out...."

There's not much to report today.

Things are about the same as before. Connie is still heavily sedated. The
doctor told me that they are continuing an aggressive approach to treatment:
as he put it, it's a "full-court press."

The Jurrens family is so grateful for all your prayers and support of
messages from everyone. Thank you for your concern. We feel that Connie is
immersed in your love.

Drew, this is for you, not the list, thanks.

The neurosurgeon came down to tell us at 7:45 AM that the operation was
successful, that they got most of Connie's tumor out, and they were able to
relieve the pressure on her brain that caused the emergent event last night.

She'll be in the intensive care unit for most of the day, perhaps through
tomorrow, recovering from the trauma. He's very pleased with the outcome,
and will be monitoring her closely to discern any possible deficits.

We still have a long road ahead: radiotherapy and chemo I'm sure.

Thank you for all the prayers so far!

Please keep them coming....73

Please keep in your thoughts and prayers today the wife of one of our
members who will be undergoing emergency brain surgery this afternoon. I was
asked to hold off on their name at this time. More details will be
forthcoming.
Thank you,
