Subject: [Dsrc] October 9th DVRA Meeting to Feature Aerial
	RadioNavigation

This month's DVRA meeting will feature a talk on Aerial Navigation by Lou
Crocker, N2END:

Early aeronautical navigation aids started with visual signals, but soon the
value of radio aids to navigation were realized. The Low Frequency (LF) or
A-N range was a navigational method in use in the United States from the
1920's until the system was decommissioned in 1980. The A-N range consisted
of ground transmitters with directional antennas. Signals were received in
the aircraft and the audio was interpreted directly by the pilot to obtain
position information. This presentation will describe some efforts to create
an A-N range station on an amateur band.

All are welcome to attend. Also note that we will be testing a new meeting
format for October and November. A combined Directors/Business Meeting
will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 PM, followed by a social/refreshment period
from 7:30 to 8:00 PM, a five minute announcement of this month's upcoming
activity dates, and the featured talk at 8:05 PM. All will be held at Our
Lady of Good Counsel Church on Lower Ferry Road, West Trenton. Feel free to
join for all or part of the meeting.

See you there. More details at[E. Drew Moore] www dot w2zq dot com
