My mistake - ARRL Field Day is a weekend event so my first email is confusing everybody.

The RVRC work day at the repeater site will be on Saturday 6/22 not Sunday

Sat 6/22 @ 11:30 until 3:30 or until we get done / tired / too hot.......

Call on the radio and someone should be able to let you know if we are still up there if you are coming over later in the timeline.

This is a very loose - unofficial event. We would love to see some new folks on the hill and it will give all a chance to see some of the changes that we spend so much time talking about at the meetings.

The work on the antennas is to get ready for the professional climbing team that will hang them on the tower. The antennas need to be assembled and mounted on the masts. The assembly is actually a field level tuning activity that controls the eventual coverage pattern etc. Its a little more exact than an IKEA project, but we have good instructions and diagrams so I think we can get it done in short order. There are numerous pieces so a few extra hands will make it go faster.

The shed project is in the early stages but folks have asked a lot about what is going on so if you can come up and get a first hand look, that would be great.

Are you feeling the need to play with radio stuff on Field Day?

If you don't have other plans and want to visit the W2QW repeater site, a few of us will be working on the antennas and maybe doing a little shed project work. It would be great to stop by and give us a hand or just to see what's happening 'on the hill'.

Our main activity is to assemble the new folded dipole antennas (2 Meter and 440) in preparation for a climb and reinstallation on the tower. This work requires a few sets of hands to get everything in position properly and attached to the mast mounts.

The 'unofficial' work day will be from approximately 11:30 to 3:30. The repeater site (the hill) is at the Lund homestead at 112 Rock Rd West in Greenbrook. This is a few blocks from Washington Rock park.

Please let me know if you plan to stop by. We can always use a few folks to help clean up around the tower site. If you have a favorite rake and some trash bags and some good gloves, please bring them along to give us a hand. Please note - there is some poison ivy around so bring appropriate protection. Please bring your own snacks and refreshments.

If we really get crazy, I might try to bring a radio and a G5RV to see if we can heat up the airwaves a little - no promises - the antenna work is the main event.

Thanks
