Dennis's last message to the W2QW club. He was always very opinionated and
spoke his mind. The last thing he did was purchase the necessary stock of
Buyer/Seller tickets to make sure we had them on hand.

Drew

Thanks, while I appreciate the kind invite to get to the next meeting,
please don't misunderstand, I have no gripe or grudge with anyone there at
the club, for any reason, or anything like that. Its just that I don't care
for what the club has evolved into, pretty much a rptr. club, and you've
heard me write this before. The hour-and-a-half meeting revolves around
rptr. issues and hamfest, and just about nothing else is ever talked about,
so really I don't think that's for me on the ongoing basis that it is.

As I've told Mike, in an email to him, I don't mind working with/for the
club in things I think I can do, but to show up there, well, I fully expect
to buy a tkt. to enter the hamfest, yet, I will be working the VE session,
and otherwise, you have the tkts. in the back of your SUV. I will probably
be passing out flyers at the TCRA meeting this Monday, and the ETS picnic on
Sunday, as I still have some left over from the bust that Cherryville was.
Work the VE sessions, as available, knowing full well there aren't enough
VE's in the club to begin with; maybe work a work party at the rptr. site,
sure, most likely. Things like that where I can be a part of something the
club otherwise might not have or get, is fine with me, and, of course, it
never hurts to ask about something neither you nor I have thought of yet.

I have, and made, plenty of friends there, and there's no reason to not keep
up with them in a more fluid arrangement than being a member and going to
meetings; I'm so over that, and its pointless from the time and gas I use
just to get to a meeting, which I've already explained before.

Some things I can even rule out right now: net control on Sunday nights, I'm
usually in church, as we mentioned somewhat in the ride down to Manalapan. I
usually don't get home till 8:30 or after, depending on the baloney
(Christianity in action: just watch the parking lot after Mass !) etc. Its
just the way that schedule works out.

So thanks for the reminder that I can still get to this meeting, but I
believe I've made a choice that I'll stick to for the time being, and wish
the very best to the club,

Dennis
