Dennis and I spent the day together on June 1, 2013 running the biggest 
Hamcram/exam session we have done in years for Manalapan Township 
RACES-CERT organization. He picked me up at 7 am and returned me safely 
10-11 hours later. I couldn't drive because of a leg injury so he 
stuffed my wheelchair in the vehicle and off we went for a very busy 
day.

The next morning he called and offered to come from Linden to Piscataway 
and do the same thing for the ETSNJ picnic. I would have taken him up 
but hr had extended himself unselfishly the day before. We exchanged 
emails the next couple of days and then I didn't hear from him. This is 
unusual if you have ever got into an opinioned thread with Dennis. I 
sent him and email to check on him early last evening and I was shocked 
to read Joe's email this morning.

I've known Dennis for over 3 decades as a result of ETSNJ and have been 
a VE with him since the beginning. The shock hasn't fully set in yet but 
I know he will be missed as a friend.
