      Gentlemen
Maybe we could disconnect whenever the WAN network has their nets. There is a schedule on the WAN website regarding said network.
On the flip side, our 625 repeater will be up to full strength once we hire a climber&get a new antenna for our repeater. All of us want our 2 meter repeater up to full strength&we will do this soon&most of us are getting antsy regarding this&need to be a bit more patient, myself included.Work will begin in the spring.
I think the goal here is to have the 2m repeater just for local work&the 440 on the WAN.Im seeing our 440 repeater being used&this is good.Even before the WAN,there was little use of it being utilized when I would listen in.(440)
I would like to also point out that everyone's input is valuable to the tech committee. If the vast majority of everyone wants our 440 off the WAN then fine, compliance would not be a problem. However,I do think its nice to experiment with some networks to see the value of expansion.Maybe this may be something new to all of us.But my thing is,there is nothing wrong with trying something new.If we have the attitude that says.."Well this is the way we have been doing this for the past 20 years",then we will always be in a rut, never trying anything new.The ham radio community is quite vast&growing all the time&its also exciting to see the immense talent prowess that many of us have.I think as a club we should continue with more experimentation to see what would be good for us&eventually something permanent if all agree.

                                                                                     73
                                                                                   Pete
