Alan,

HRD Ham Radio Deluxe version 5.X is still free and includes a logging
program in it fully encompassing suite of programs. Very soon HRD will
release its version 6.0 for those that pre-register the cost will be $60
after its release the cost will jump to $74. There aren't too many programs
for free these days because of the development work. Also, it's worth
checking the Amateur Contact log v3.3 (ACLOG 3.3)  by N3FJP software
http://www.n3fjp.com/ Scott has an excellent suite of programs and a great
logging program. I have been using the logging program for a year and enjoy
using it daily. If you enjoy the logging program you can upgrade to his
software package and get credit for the logging program cost. There is a
very active Yahoo user group at
