Fellow RVRC'ers:
I'm looking for a few good people. Not to join the Marines, but, to
help out with a necessary and important task for the Hamfest. I'm
talking about helping with the parking duties and greeting our fellow
amateurs as they come in to (hopefully) help make the 'fest a success
for the club.
So...I have a couple folks who've already stepped up to the plate (Alan,
Craig, and one other person who Eric has mentioned is willing to help);
it would be great if a few more volunteered to join in to make sure that
the cars get in, get out, and generally maintain an orderly flow (as
well as, I believe, take care of the ticket sales and the like...).
So, as an incentive...I'll be bringing a couple Boxen o'Joe and goodies
for breakfast (yeah, I know, like we all need them...), and I'll make
sure there's a cooler with some cold non-alcoholic and diet, as well as
normal beverages and juice available for those 'in the front lines'.
It's not my purpose to tie anyone down for the whole event; as the
morning progresses and the traffic waxes and wanes, you'll have enough
time to wander the aisles and see what's being offered. If we have
enough interest...will probably arrange duty by shifts...so everyone has
a chance to contribute to help out as well as participate and shop.
Obviously...club shirts and badges...and a smile are welcome.
So, if you're interested in pitching in and making a contribution of
time to ensure the success of the hamfest, please let me know, and I'll
be sure to include you in the roster.
Thanks and 73.
