The National Weather Service and the Mercer County Office of Emergency
Management are co-sponsoring a Basic and an Advanced Skywarn class. ADVANCE
REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED . Classes are free.
DATE: Saturday, May 21, 2011
TIMES: 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon - Basic Skywarn Class
12:00 Noon to 1:00 PM - Lunch (NOT provided - please bring
your own)
1:00 PM to 3:00 PM - Advanced Skywarn Class
LOCATION: Dempster Fire Training Center/Auditorium
350 Lawrence Station Road, Lawrenceville, NJ .
Register with the Mercer County Office of Emergency Management by e-mailing
your full name, street address, phone number, e-mail address and which class
or classes you will attend (it is highly recommended, but not required, that
you attend both), to draymond at mercercounty.org , or by faxing that
information to 609 799 7067 or call the office at 609-799-8868.
Attendees must be 17 years of age or older and must bring at least one form
of government-issued photo identification.
An Amateur Radio license is not required to attend the classes or to
participate in the Skywarn program. Please spread the word amongst any
organizations to which you belong and to anyone you believe may be
interested. We also ask that you announce these classes on any nets that
you participate in. This is a good opportunity for Spotters who are in need
of re-qualifying (if your last class was in 2008 or earlier), to do so. The
lprevious class held in Mercer County was in June of 2008.
