I would agree about saying what band we're on.  With 5 or 6 machines 
(depending on the phases of the moon,
time of day, network configuration, etc) across 3, soon to be 4 
bands...so, announcing with call letters, {listening|monitoring}, on {2 
meters|220|440|Echolink|Allstar} and, maybe, current location should be 
sufficient...just my $.03 (adjusted for currency devaluation).

And...replying to a call, if only to acknowledge their transmission is 
received...might be courteous...:)
