WLW in Chicago:

Antenna switch: http://www.rfproof.com/50_500_KW.jpg (look at the power
ratings...;))
50KW "Exciter": http://www.rfproof.com/WLW_50KW_DRIVER.jpg (yes, that's
the transmitter control console foreground)
500KW final tube: http://www.rfproof.com/CROSLEY_500K_TUBE.jpg
Transmission Lines: http://www.rfproof.com/WLW-xmsnline.jpg (that's
3.25" on either side of the main 10" diameter line)
2nd Harmonic Filter: http://www.rfproof.com/WLW_SECOND_HARMONIC_FILTER.jpg

Amazing technology for the time...WLW actually had a proposal in to the
commission to allow them to go to 1MW, which, for obvious reasons, was
not approved. But, imagine being a transmitter watch engineer in a 1
megawatt plant?

Well, for years I was smart. I recommend pleasant.
