Alan, Thanks for passing the article along. I became a licensed ham in 1977
thanks to classes held at the YMCA and taught by George Russell. Many
members of the Piscataway ARC started at K2YNT before branching off and
starting their own club. I remember the Metuchen Field Days with warm
memories.

Subject: [RVRC] Nice article on the old Metuchen YMCA Radio Club
All,
My friend and co-worker sent me a copy of the "Nannygoats" newsletter
published by the Metuchen-Edison Historical Society. In this issue (Summer
2011), there is a great multi-page article written by George Muha (N2XM)
that presents a brief history recounting of activities of the Metuchen YMCA
Radio Club - K2YNT. The story features many pictures and mentions of many
of the club members - including Dr. George Hyde, Charles Smith, Allen
Hughes, and George Russell (W2SJU). There are others too. I'm a bit too
young to remember these guys and the others mentioned, but I thought that
many of the club members may remember these guys, the club, and maybe even
recognize some of the un-mentioned people in the photos.
I have the paper copy that Scott sent to me, but was also able to locate an
electronic copy on the Historical Society's website. Here is a link to the
newsletter.

The story of the radio club starts on page 1, and then continues on pages
4-8.
Enjoy, and please pass this along to any non-members of the RVRC mailing
list that might enjoy reading this.
