[RVRC] Fw: Emergency RVRC Meeting

Gentlemen,

Just my 2cents worth it would be wise to get the statement on paper and vote on the issue via email this would be the most convenient for all members. However, I do see a flaw with this method since I would be impossible to have a question and answer discussion take place. So why don't we try a vote by email and than if the members need more information than initially provided by the write-up either the technical committee or Officers can get the answers out to them and the club. Using all the technology sound cool but getting the membership together weather all-star or Echo link is not likely, and since this sounds urgent, I believe we need to act ASAP.

Judging from the numbers in the parens (10/500) after the "name" of the confernece group, that's number signed in and number able to be signed in, some of these conferneces can get quite large. I think a good percentage of the RVRC voting membership has or can establish ECHOLINK capability very quickly. And that's not meaning sign into the net listing, W2QW-R, which then puts all of our business out there for everybody to hear; the conference is heard only by those who connect to it. We can take it down after the emergency meeting or just leave it there for another time we might want to use it. (Any ECHOLINK node will be able to sign into it, at any time, but that doesn't mean they will find anybody there!).

Just because you strongly believe in using radios for our hobby, and I agree, doesn't mean we shouldn't explore and get to know the other technologies out there. Maybe spend some time exploring the ECHOLINK.org website, while we wait to hear further as to how this meeting is going to be held.
