[RVRC] FW: Fw: Emergency RVRC Meeting

Everyone that participates in an echolink conference must already be a
member of echolink. I suspect to set up a conference one has to have a call
registered with echolink. Anyone doing a search on w2qw will find us.

Well maybe you might want to set up an ECHOLINK conference, like at the
bottom of their station listing. Judging from the numbers in the parens
(10/500) after the "name" of the confernece group, that's number signed in
and number able to be signed in, some of these conferneces can get quite
large. I think a good percentage of the RVRC voting membership has or can
establish ECHOLINK capability very quickly. And that's not meaning sign into
the net listing, W2QW-R, which then puts all of our business out there for
everybody to hear; the conference is heard only by those who connect to it.
We can take it down after the emergency meeting or just leave it there for
another time we might want to use it. (Any ECHOLINK node will be able to
sign into it, at any time, but that doesn't mean they will find anybody
there!).

Of course, we should've tried setting up our "conference" a long time ago,
just for such "short of time" need to use it issues like now.

Just my thoughts on one way it might get done. Just because you strongly
believe in using radios for our hobby, and I agree, doesn't mean we
shouldn't explore and get to know the other technologies out there. Maybe
spend some time exploring the ECHOLINK.org website, while we wait to hear
further as to how this meeting is going to be held.

73 all,
Dennis, W2IU
