Gerry,
Thank you! I have now hit the big six oh!!! At first when read the last line, I saying, gosh that Gerry is a great friend calling me,
"one of the nicest guys I know" then in the same breath he nails me with, "and one of my oldest ham friends". What is he
going to call me when I hit 70, one of his most ancient ham friends!!!! Seriously, thank for the birthday wishes and we do go
back a long way, from St. Peters to Plum St. to Foxwood Drive!!!
Best wishes and 73 to all!!!
Bill

Subject: Happy Birthday, Bill! W2CA celebrates another one!
I've known Bill Labos since High School (we went to St. Peter High School in New Brunswick) where we were founders & members of the SPHS Electronics Club! We had a club station call WB2SKY (we called ourselves the "Ham Club in the SKY" because we had an entire, abandoned classroom on the top floor of the school as our playground. It had a door that opened to the roof where we put antennas! The nuns had no idea we had copied a master key and used it to go in and out onto the roof! We got a bunch of surplus equipment, much of it from the Navy yard in Bayonne (I think). We had a 6 foot rack, a DX-100, a "portable" 40 meter Navy transceiver, and other gems. We thought we were the cat's meow! <G>
Bill came to ham radio by way of CB, as so many others have, and one day I'll tell you the story about how he stumbled into our hobby by way of an on-the-job accident! It makes for interesting reading.
For now, happy birthday to one of the nicest guys I know, and one of my oldest ham friends, ARL FORTY SIX, Bill...may you live long and prosper! 73,
GJ
