Subject: Long Hill Twp Event

Long Hill Township is having it's annual Community Day Fair on
Saturday. We have been asked to operate a Ham Station from the event.
We need Control Operators on 2 meter repeaters, so Kids and Visitors
can get on the air. Even more important we need competent NPARC
members to speak with the parents and other adults, and explain why
Ham Radio is a good activity for them and for their kids.

Set up time in Gillette will be between 9 and 11 AM.
Our operating times will be from 1500Z until about 2000Z.
I expect to tear everything down by 5 PM.

We'll have one Club Gazebo there, a Honda Generator, one of our 2
meter mobile rigs (with the usual local repeaters set up), a power
supply etc. and a ground plane antenna with a couple of green aluminum
poles holding it up. Plus the usual handouts, ICOM comic books, papers
and logs for a Kids Day or summer camp operation.

We'll also have a couple of code oscillators and straight keys for the
kids to play with.

I have asked Eric NW2P to set us up on IRLP with some foreign or at
least west coast and Canadian repeaters, and ask some english speaking
hams to listen for us. This will be on the 146.625 repeater which is
set up in the Mobile rig. Eric will be around much of the day to speak
with the kids and visitors.

I hope we have enough Control Ops from NPARC to keep going all this
time. If you can't come and help, please try to get on the various
repeaters and speak with the kids. Call me for further info.
