Hello All - FYI from the NNJ ARES - 73 de N2DV

Situational Awareness of the potential significant winter weather event in the area is requested of all ARES members.

Individual ARES Members are also requested to follow any instructions issued by their local ARES Leadership in conjunction with any activations or stand-by requests from local Served Agencies and Partners. Contact information for NNJ ARES Leadership as well as ARES Alert Status Information is available here: www.hudson.arrl.org/nnj/ares

As of early Friday morning, NWS forecasts are still not fully locked in on any one solution for this event. NWS is noting that a small change in the track (as little as 15-30 miles) can have a large change on local area impacts. The next computer forecast model runs, will be done with data collected from the early morning weather balloon launches and ground observations (FYI...this worldwide data collection takes place at both 0000z and at 1200z and is then input into the various computer forecast models).

For the latest NWS Snowfall Total amount predictions please refer to the 2 links included below, and note that there are county based specifics for each link. These should be checked from time to time , both before and during this event, for updates and changes as the situation becomes better defined and refined by the NWS.
