Hi, All! There's a new column that debuted in the November 2009 issue of
"CQ" our members may be interested in reviewing. It's by Joe Eisenberg,
K0NEB, and begins on p. 68 in this month's issue. His first column is
entitled "Tips for Successful Kit-Building" and offers some very good ideas
for those of us just starting out, or who have been away from building stuff
for a while. One photo of the author shows him working on what looks like a
cafeteria tray - that seems like a great idea for me, as I tend to lose
stuff all over my work table!

Anyhow, take a look and see if you don't agree it's worth reading each
month.

In the October issue, there was a fascinating (quite long yet very readable)
article about Dr. Joe Taylor, K1JT, plus a companion piece online that
expanded beyond the printed pages. Having worked a couple of VHF/UHF
contests from Joe's shack in the past few years and having hosted him as a
guest speaker at our annual Boy Scout Radio Merit Badge Day, I can attest to
the absolutely fantastic character that he is! And what a station he has!
A whole lot of it is homebrewed by the way.<G>

P.S. I have no pecuniary interest in CQ - I'm just a subscriber like many of
you are. 73,
