Hi all,
(surely the RTTY-aficionades had big fun this weekend!)
Before putting my question to an RTTY-reflector, thought I'd first ask here.
I'm looking for someone who is still familiar with the K6STI-RiTTY DOS software.
In 2000 during the A52A DXpedition, we used the K6STI/WF1B combo in DXPedition mode for RTTY Q's.
This was done with a Toshiba laptop, with internal sound card.
And here's where I get stuck today, using a Toshiba Satellite Pro 460CDX laptop (Win98).
RiTTY requires a non PCI-bus soundcard (ISA slot on pc's of those days, and Brian K6STI pointed out that a 16-bit Creative Labs works best).
Toshiba data: http://www.minuszerodegrees.net/manuals/Toshiba/Satellite/Toshiba%20Satellite%20460CDX%20and%20460CDT%20-%20Product%20Specifications.pdf
RiTTY starts up with a partial window only, without the tuning bars.
I am (obviously) missing something.
Has anyone successfully used RiTTY on a laptop with internal soundcard, and would you know what I'm missing? (autoexec/config parameters, drivers?)
Tnx for contacting me off-list.

ps: I'd like to do back-to-back testing between RiTTY and MMTTY
pps: this testing has been done already long time ago, but hey, seems like a fun project… http://inbody.net/ad0k/rtty/rttyinfo/RX_compare.htm
