Hi agn,

Ref. below e-mail going back 3 months, I want to update you on what
happened.
Firstly, my thanks goes to those who put me on my way with the TARIC code!

In the end it seems to come down to an error from UPS, using an invoice not
carrying the amount of shipping I have paid in the US (55 USD).

This 'incomplete' invoice triggered the customs in Belgium to use a
'default' sum of 138 USD (instead of 55 USD!)
to calculate (part of) the import VAT. Hence the total sum of 79 euro I had
to pay.

DX Engineering (from which I bought parts) is currently investigating with
UPS what
can be done to avoid UPS from using an 'incomplete' (i.e., without shipping
costs) invoice.
Hmm, cannot be that difficult, can it?

It took me several e-mails, numerous telephone calls, in the end I even had
to raise my voice
during a telephone conversation, to finally find out this rather silly
origin/cause to my problem.

Three months. Waw! There are more useful things one can do...
