I confirm. 55-60 QSOs, nil on 10+15 (expected), only 1 on 80m (big gun 
JH4UYB) but it was a painful QSO, 3 on 40m and the rest on 20m with rather 
strong signals. But not many JA QRV.

I have been at home for 2 weeks and made 900 casual QSO's on 40, 30, 20 and 
17m. I have worked more JA's on 17m and 30m on my dipole than in any contest 
with a yagi. One night on 30m I could even call 'EU QRX NW JA' and work a 
dozen JA's. And again a while later. That never happens to me in a contest!

They're there and work DX, just not in contests... Call CQ on a band with 
conditions to JA and you'll work some (special pfx helps!), but not on 
weekends in a contest. Strange. Will they show up when cycle 24 goes strong?
