   Hallo Contestfreunde,     Auf der Lokation von ZL6QH soll einer
der größten Windparks Neuseelands gebaut werden (s.u.). Das
Genehmigungsverfahren ist abgeschlossen. Die
Elektrizitätsgesellschaft als Eigentümerin von Grundstück und
Fazilitäten hätte keine Einwände dagegen, daß ZL6QH in der bisherigen
Form von der Lokation weiterbetrieben wird. Es werden allerdings
Störungen durch die Windturbinen befürchtet.   Es sollen Turbinen des
Typs Vestas V 90 für die Windfarm verwendet werden.  Hat von Euch
jemand Erfahrungen  mit solchen Störungen bzw. Betrieb in
unmittelbarer Nähe von Windfarmen?  Für Berichte wäre ich dankbar.

Hi Franz

I hope the new year is going well for you.

As you know Meridian Energy are planning to build a wind farm at
Quartz Hill.
Their resource consent application has been approved but is likely to
be
appealed. See

latest  information.

We are still hopeful that it will be possible to continue ZL6QH at
Quartz Hill,
but this outcome is dependent on the level of HF noise that will be
generated by
the wind farm infrastructure. You will recall that we recently
undertook some
noise measurements at Meridian's Te Apiti wind farm. There was little
evidence
of noise at Te Apiti but it is not possible to directly translate the
Te Apiti
findings to Quartz Hill as Meridian are proposing to use a newer
turbine
technology (Vestas V90 3 MW turbines) at Makara.

It is likely that the new Vestas V90 turbines have already been
deployed in
Europe so we are keen to know if amateurs or other HF users in Europe
can
provide any information on the level of HF noise generated by these
turbines. We
are wondering whether if you would be kind enough to make some
inquiries on our
behalf to the European amateur community.

Please let me know if you can assist with the inquiries.  However, if
this is not
convenient, then please do not feel under any obligation.
