[Rover] 24v/26v

I'm about to venture into the area of needing 24/26VDC in a 12V vehicle.

Simplicity is desired.

I'm thinking about how to use a 12V battery in series with the vehicle battery to power the 24/26V devices while keeping the 12V devices on 12V (duh).  I'll need ~20A (max) at 24/26V.

Has anyone tried this approach with advice to share?  Maybe even a sketch to show how the two systems coexist?
