The triumph of hope over experience! The first two hours' score bested my 2015 and 2016 scores -- COMBINED! My CLAIMED-SCORE: 23,424 is the best since 2006. I never worked anyone in the grid I happened to be in. I hung in for the last "dead" 90 minutes on Sunday for just one QSO -- which turned out to be a DUPE from hour 2 on Saturday! He was in the middle of the road -- soaking wet from a recent thunderstorm -- and wouldn't hang around long enough to have his picture taken. The Colorado prairie is lush with tall, green grass and festooned with wild sunflowers from all the recent thunderstorms. I saw more cattle than ever before. Ranchers ain't dumb. No hair-raising or teeth-gnashing stories this time.
