Point your antenna at 38 N 104 W would put me well within your 3dB aperture -- unless you're out there within rock-throwing distance. http://W3DHJ.net/vhfrover_plans.php I'll be on 432 mcs this time, as well as my usual 2M and 6M. It's 432 with 70W and 8 elements. 73 ES GL Jonesy -- Marvin L Jones | W3DHJ | W3DHJ | http://W3DHJ.net/ Pueblo, Colorado | @ | Jonesy | __ 38.238N 104.547W | jonz.net | DM78rf | 73 SK From bobw2sj at gmail.com Tue Sep 6 02:03:33 2016 From: bobw2sj at gmail.com (Bob Fischer) Date: Tue, 6 Sep 2016 02:03:33 -0400 Subject: [Rover] Reminder: W2EA High Knob, FN21KH September Contest Operation! Message-ID: Dear Pack Rats & Friends, What are you doing this weekend, September 10th & 11th? Several Pack Rats along with members of the South Jersey Mountain Toppers will combine their efforts again to set up and operate a multi-op station under the call W2EA from High Knob in the Poconos in grid FN21KH for the September contest. We will be at 2047 feet ASL on bands 50 MHz thru 10Gig with good power and antennas. Whether you are anticipating putting in as much time as possible or just getting on for a short period of time, we encourage all Pack Rats & Friends to get on the air and work us at W2EA. For those of you that may only be on for a short time, we will be monitoring the ON4KST chat page as well as the Pack Rats Members Chat Page for anyone wanting to work W2EA. In addition, any other acceptable assistance methods are available to alert us of your operations during the contest. The cell phone/text numbers on site will be available for any last minute schedules: (484) 614-1505 or (609) 440-2916. Those of you who have traveled to remote locations in the contests know it takes quite an effort to plan, set up, operate, and disassemble a mountain top station. Please support the W2EA group going to High Knob this year by working us on as many bands as you have. We look forward to giving out FN21 to as many stations as possible and to help increase activity for all stations to an all time high in the ARRL September Contest! CU on the Bands and Good Luck! We will have an FM 70 cm / 2m mobile with 50 watts that we will turn on periodically to avoid conflict with the higher power SSB radio - we will monitor 146.52 mhz during these times. We are also carrying a 220 mhz handheld, just in case someone needs that, but we won?t be calling CQ on it.
