W9FZ/Rover plans for June 2004 contest:
I have a mandatory Air Force meeting on Saturday till
about 5pm at worst and 3pm at best. This meeting is in
Milwaukee so that is where I will start my rove. It'll
be like old times--I haven't roved in eastern Wisconsin
in a few years. My goal is to have fun and elevate the
activity level in Wisconsin. I appreciate all the Q's
I can get.
I'll be operating 6-2304 + 10GHz. I will be CQ'ing on
144.250 and expect to move to .150 on the other bands.
I'll probably have to go higher on 6m than that. Yes,
this is FAR away from the calling freq--and that's the
point. I hope you'll have a warm VFO from spinning up
and down the band. I may announce my presence on 144.200,
but I will promptly QSY to 144.250 to make QSO's. We all
know there are problems with .200. I'm convinced that
doing my CQ'ing up on .250 helps contribute to a better
world :-). At least it doesn't make .200 worse :-)
Here's the plan (times Zulu):
EN-62 2200-2300Z Milwaukee near airport and lakeshore
EN-52 2330-0030Z Minooka County Park southern Waukesha
EN-53 0100-0200Z Hillcrest Park Waukesha
EN-63 0230-0330Z Cedarburg area (need suggestions)
a little EN-63 and EN-64 driving northward in the night
EN-64 1300-1400Z Near Oconto
EN-65 1500-1600Z 5mi W of Peshtigo
EN-55 1700-1800Z SE Corner of grid (near Coleman)
2300-0000Z SW Corner of grid
EN-54 1900-2000Z NE Corner of grid (near Lena)
2200-2300Z NW Corner of grid (near Edgar)
EN-44 0030-0130Z NE Corner of Grid
EN-45 0130-0300Z SE Corner of Grid (near Athens)
I intend to try to collect a few guys on the same beam
heading before heading off to other bands. I expect to
go to 432 first, 6m 2nd, 222 3rd, then 1296, 903, and
2304, (+10G) I would prefer to do them in order but I
want to jump to bands that most guys have. I know, one
of the chief problems is the amount of time I'm NOT on
144.250 but rather off on some other bands. That's
where I could use the friendly community to spread the
word that I'm on such and such a band and expect to be
back on 144.250 shortly.
Notice that I'm operating in EN-54 and EN-55 for two
different periods from two different locations.
Please note that on Saturday night, W0AMT/Rover
will also be in the Milwaukee area and CQ'ing on
144.240. They have all the bands. This should be a
BUSY evening!
May I clean sweep many of you.
