Greetings to Rovers and VHF'ers
For those of you who are familiar with the N3FJP contest software
(WWW.N3FJP.COM);
Scott has just (1/5/2004) added a new feature in the newest update of
the VHF LOG contest software (Ver 2.2) , which adds a 'Post-contest"
entry mode. His" VHF Log" is one of a very few that support Rover
operations.
This allows easy entry of contest logs, after the event, without having
to tediously edit each line item for date and time.
In this "post-contest" mode, the time and date are manually entered
once, for the first contact. Then as data is entered, the cursor lands on
this field in order to allow a change in the entry if needed, such as the
time. If no change is needed, then just <TAB> over to the next field.
In the normal "real-time" mode, the time and date is automatically
entered from the computer, and there is no provision to change it,
without going into a full edit mode of each line entry that required a
change.
I prefer paper logs, as a rover, and this new feature has made the
software much more suitable for after event data submissions. Scotts
customer support is top notch. Check out his very complete line of
software which is custom designed for most major operating events, and a
few administrative items also. You can download trial copies from his web
site, and updates are available on-line also.
A happy customer.
