[Rover] Ft-857 users, FT-100D's selling out

As I understand from the FT-100 list, the current stock of FT-100D's are all 
that are left for stores to sell and since it looks like I won't be able to 
order one till late next month I was wondering what you folks with FT-857's 
think of them on VHF/UHF?

Any problems? Likes/dislikes?

How is it without the built-in DSP like the FT-100D has?  Engine noise 
problems?
