I think I sent you a pic of my 94 Ford E-150 Rover, if not, another one is
attached(fn30). I also sent a picture of ND3F's rover(brian2) and that is
his ambulance. As far as size of vehicles, permits, registration, etc is
concerned, best to check with your state vehicle registration before any
purchase, so you know how each chassis/frame is taxed and registered. There
are ways to have certain vehicles as RV registered, but again, best check
state regs.
I know that ND3F bought an ambulance--he spent a lot more than he was
expecting to in order to get it inspected as a "legal" vehicle. My van is
registerable and insurable only as a truck, since there are no windows in
the load area. I am restricted from parking a "truck" on my driveway for
extended periods of time (I do occas overnite on a contest weekend for
recharging) due to covenants and restrictions of my community. I am able to
dissemble the antennas after an event and pull it into the garage. N3OZO has
a schoolbus converted to radio vehicle--he has had his trials with it also.
He also had a box-type "bread truck " in the past--it was sort of an
aluminum box rear area...
do a lot of checking about what size vehicle can go where, etc...before you
invest. 73, Happy New Year..Rick, K1DS/R
