I am a very competitive but only with person, ME! ;) I find discussions of=
 the
new vs the old rover scoring silly. Why does it matter how we score compared=
 to
the fixed stations. All that matters to me is that I strive to improve my=20
skills
and equipment so I do better each time out. Sure a piece of wallpaper is=20
cool to
receive but the several division winner certificates we garnered are all in=
=20
desk
drawers at this time. As long as the rules are consistent from year to year=
=20
then
you can compare to your prior scores etc. Comparing a 4 band rover to a 10=
 band
rover is folly, or course the little guy shouldn't win outright but who=
 cares?
When you look at the line scores you can see all the other 4 band rovers=20
and how
you compared to them.

I second what Ev said, if you make a 4 band limited class then you are only
encouraging the disuse of the higher bands (where the rovers are needed=
 MOST!).
