Just a thought, but if you are running a rig at less than 20 amps, Radio
Shack has a great in-line filter that goes on the power leads. Works
pretty good.
Fords are horrible. I have a 2002 Focus. It has individual coils for
each spark plug, bad wires and a noisy fuel pump. Luckily I have a Yaesu
FT-100D which has the best noise blanker I have ever seen. Still, I
can't transmit on 40 Meters (it kills the engine).
Ford has a web site which deals with ignition noise. If I can find the
URL, I'll post it.
