[Rover] Moxon antenna performance

I know what you mean about the heigth issues as I already have bounce a
home-built 6meter loop off of a bank drive-thru ripping the roof rack off of
my Subaru wagon. Already got the rof rack ready to go again but have checked
all drive-thrus bank,McD's, etc... so I know my safe maximum height.

Was looking towards a pair of 2meter moxons in place of a pair of loops?
Aimed either in the same direction or 180 apart to cover 2 directions.

ALSO< in the past we had talked about using voice keyers on rover setups, a
friend of mine a PIC guru, is prototyping a PIC based single message voice
keyer for my rover setup. It uses a Radio Shack type voice recorder unit and
a PIC controller, once the message is recorded one button turns it on and
starts calling. A PTT pickup line stop it if you key the mic the you have to
restart it manually. Also looking at adding "START" capability via the
UP/DOWN buttons on the MIC. As soon as we get a working unit ready I will
send you one for your testing, but that might not be till next spring as he
is a Electrical Engineering professor at WVU and plays in the spare time,
but he is good as he has developed a fully functional TNC-2 compatable TNC
using a PIC chip from scratch and uses them for 1200,2400,9600, and 19k2
packet but that is dieing out since he internet has grown.

Talk to you again soon.

PS: If you were me, with only one band, 6meters, 160watts, and a moxon go
out for a rove in September? Was thinking instead of multi band operation
just going for 4 grid operation (FM09,EM99,FN00,EN90) in two on Sat & two on
Sun. Might have 2SSB ready but probably will only be 10watts to 25 watts
with a moxon also. I feel like doing it but sometimes it feels like a
waisted effort with such a limited setup, but we all have to start
somewhere...
