OK, now that I have the power system figured out as well as which vehicle I
am going to use (1987 Subaru Stationwagon 4WD) now comes the antennas.
I am shooting for a system that can be used both moving and stationary, with
the most db's out for the small power levels I will have for
now.(6=10watts,2=25watts) Alinco DX70T with a DEMI 144-28 transverter.
Want to go on a theme similar to W3IY ideas, to have beams for most all
bands above 6-meters, which will be either a PAR loop or a Hamstick
verticle.
My idea for mounting is this, a 3-pronged form like a pitch-fork with the
center prong at 36" above the bottom and the 2 outboard prongs 18" above the
bottom. Like King Neptune's Speture from th Little Mermaid!? (Note: Watched
to many kids movies with daughter when she was little)
On the top center prong at 36" a 2-meter beam of some length (6' to 10' or
longer???) on the other prongs a similar length 222 and 432 beams or maybe
even quagi's as they are easy to build, repair, replace of ruined.
Almost forgot, each verticle piece has a seperation of 24".
I can make a rack of this description out of PVC pipe very easily, 6' long
would just fir between rear hatch joint to the top edge of the wind shield.
Any longer would protrude out over the windshield into unsupported space.
I know I am asking a lot of questions lately, but I am finally able to
really get this 3 year old dream/project off of the drawing board and on the
road! ! !
