[Rover] Cushcraft A270-10S

Hello,

I've used one for 4 years now I guess. It has worked great, but I have
never attempted to measure it or compare it to another antenna. It rides
horizontal on my rover facing into the wind, and doesn't seem to mind
going 80 MPH once in a while.

I especially like it because it hooks directly to the 2m/432 port on my
706, thereby not needing a diplexer.

Subject: [Rover] Cushcraft A270-10S

Does anyone have any experience or opinions on the Cushcraft A270-10S as
a
rover antenna? This antenna has separate 5 element yagis for 144-148MHz
and
430-450MHz on a common boom. Cushcraft claims 10dBi for each band. The
boom
length is a little over 6 feet and it's in two pieces.

This antenna would seem to be a good compromise for a rover who doesn't
want to hassle with a lot of big antennas.

Thoughts?

Bob...
