First, I know on SSB/CW we regularly use horizontal antennas.
However, I was seriously thinking of changing my rover plans from run & gun
to stop and shoot.
So was wondering wjat you other folks have used or are using in the way of
VERTICLE antennas for 6meter SSB? I would use a loop but they just attract
to much attention by the rest of the world ie... police. He didn't give me a
big hassle, just showed him my ham paperwork and a short explanation and it
was OK but that is the 3rd time I have been stopped by police about the
antenna.
Plus a few other guys locally are starting to find the emptyness of 6FM even
without a local repeater, but one of them is putting together a 6FM machine
and we hope to get it up and running this fall. We all go to and from work
at about the same time so we BS on the way. I am the only one with SSB
capabilities or I would move them over to SSB. Mostly Alinco 6meter FM rigs.
So let me know about this subject.
