In 2001 a friend of mine who owns a franchise showed me a fax from corporate
headquarters.  It instructed them to push cell phones and batteries because
they had the highest mark-ups, many, many hundreds of % and everyone needs
both.  There is such a profit on this crap he opened two cell phone and
battery shops in town.  Almost nobody needs parts, so they have slowly been
pulled.  As for the fax, it explained that stores that didn't have a high
enough sales rate on these two items would receive "special training", if
things did not improve, discipline, even release from the company.

So, if you want cell phones or batteries, go to radio shack, anything other
than incidentals, forget it.
