[Racal] RA17C-17, s/n 12566

Hello Rob,

 

I gather that you're the expert when it comes to RA17s; I am in the middle
of restoring an RA17 MK II, s/n N2853; as if I hadn't already got enough on
my plate, I purchased an RA17C-12 on Tuesday.

 

It has the Ernest Turner meter fitted, which I believe is incorrect, as it
has no S levels on the scale; judging by the three holes in the front panel,
around the perimeter of the meter, it should be a different make, and have S
levels on the scale.  Certainly the three position meter switch is fitted.
Surprisingly, the valves are in good condition, with the exception of all
eight 6AU6s; so I have just ordered some Mazda replacements; unfortunately
the CV2524 version appears to be unobtainable.
