I am an belover of RACAL equipments and I am now servicing a RA153 Dual
Channel Receiver.
Do you have any schema for this receiver?
Do you know the value of XL1 quartz?

*****Almost certainly,XL1 is the standard 1 MHz crystal used by Racal in the
RA17/RA117 series of receivers. It is of HC6U form and is listed as being 1
MHz + or - .005%.These appear on eBay from time to time although one should
be careful to ensure the crystal actually carries the Racal type number
which should be BD7822 or BD15378.There was a change of supplier in later
times but I do not have the correct BD number for those crystals.I have
never seen a Technical Manual for the RA153,however if you send me your
email address,I can scan the RA153 page from Rinus Jansen's The Racal
Handbook and email it to you.It at least has a good block diagram but you
certainly will have to obtain a Technical Manual for a Racal
RA17L/RA17C-12.This is available from here :-

Hope this helps,Brian Goldsmith.
