Job done and the RX looks good now.

Thanks for the help.

 The slot card covers worked just fine! No rubber was needed.

I did however remove the TUNE ,BFO and REMOTE keytops to do the frequency 
display, and the BW3 and BW6 keytops to do the mode display. This is worth 
recording here as it makes access much easier.

I took the opportunity to clean the push buttons and panel components whilst 
the panel was off.
