You can perform a simple test on the filter if you have a signal gen and
oscilloscope. Just feed a 455 khz signal in one side of the filter and
look for it coming out the other side. Depending on the accuracy of your
sig gen, you may have to "rock" across the 455 khz point to hit the
actual pass frequency of the filter. It's unlikely that you have several
bad filters all at once. I believe that the 6790 needs to see a
specific filter in position one, either a LSB or symmetrical SSB filter
and thee is also a dependency on whether or not you have the ISB adapter
installed. I assume that you are initializing the receiver each time you
change filters around so that the 6790 can "inventory" it's filter
compliment?

Howdy Folks
Seems my problems with my RA6790/GM involve the A4 filter board, I have
tried several filters and it keeps telling me it can not detect a filter
in slot one. How do I test Collins mechanical filters? If my filters
are duds, does anyone know where I can buy some more?
73 and thanks Lee
