Hi All,
Racal also made 30 KHz. roofing filters if you want to give up a little
dynamic range performance. fc

Hi
As long as you want to run an analyzer that goes +/- 25 KHz from the
tune frequency an adapter should do pretty well with the 6790.
The problem is that the first IF "roofing" filters would be ahead of
the adapter output. I don't have the schematic handy but my
recollection is that they are not much more than +/- 25 KHz wide.
Most of the radios that run well with Panadapters put them in the IF
ahead of the first narrowband filter.
Now if you build a second high IF and ran it off of a buffered output
from the first mixer. Then you could run a scan as far as you wanted
to. That would require significant modification to the radio.
Take Care!
