[Racal] Any RA6217 experts out there?

I've been repairing an RA6217E for a friend, as well as four extra IF 
modules.  One of these is a variant that I have not seen before, it has 
a different AGC voltage output.  It is marked IF ASSY A-02029-3, while 
all the others are either -1 or -2.  It has a different last AGC DC amp 
stage, and one less transistor on the IF strip.  The "normal" version  
AGC sits (or should at least) at -4 Volts for no signal, and the voltage 
goes less negative for stronger signals, while the -3 AGC sits at around 
minus 5 volts, and the voltage goes more negative for higher signals.  
Neither of the two manuals I have show any details of this version; but 
it's obviously intentional. 

Any clues as to what version this came from, and what manual or manual 
pages I should be looking for?
