Brian,
Thanks for the info. I does seem to be the previous stages that are causing the problem. Plenty of
drive from the I.F. stages but difficult to know what to expect from the others. I'm in process of
changing the silvered mica caps in the filters to see what difference that makes. The first 37.5 meg
tuned circuit was drifting on warm-up. I also noticed that if I inject a signal at various points
from a sig-gen it brings the output up to a sensible level so it would not appear to be an output
stage problem.
