[R-390] UPS Store

Just received an R-390-A receiver for rebuild that was packed and shipped from a UPS store in Georgia.
Radio box looked ok - no tears or rips on box.  When moving the box around you could feel the radio sloshing around inside.  When opened found that the radio was wrapped in large cell bubble wrap.  About half of the bubbles were deflated or close to it.  As we all know - bubble wrap is not nice for heavy radios.
If the radio had been damaged, you could get a claim against UPS since they packed it.  If we packed the radio like that, we could not get a claim as UPS could claim that it was improperly packed.
If shipping our heavy toys via UPS Store, inquire how they will pack it.  You may be lucky, and your ups store may foam in place and use double wall boxes.
