[R-390] Who is doing R390 restorations?

Howard Mills doesn't do any work anymore and hasn't for years. His vision is shot as are his nerves. The work he does take in is handed over to want-to-be's whose work is slip-shod at best. It's one thing to send him a DX-60 but it's quite a risk to send something like an R390A. I lost a set of classic & irreplaceable Collins pieces entrusting them to him. They were cobbled up & ruined by his handy-men. You'd do well to avoid this venue.

Seems to me with the Y2K manual and the wealth of new owner guides, any ham should be able to get the basic modules going. Boil the operation down to a few problems and then seek assistance from someone versed in handling those. Seeking a cosmetic wonder is not the way to go.

Cheers,
