[R-390] First time R-390 Owner

Hi, Adam,
If the receivers have not been powered up lately, it's a good idea to soft-start them with a variac.  Hook it up to your radio and gradually increase the voltage from zero to no more than, say, 115Volts.  Then look and listen for anomalies.
As a matter of course I routinely soft-start my receiver.  Like us older folks, a gentle start helps a whole lot (nudge nudge wink wink)!
