[R-390] A better rectifier for the R390 and the R390A

Is there any consensus on which tubes in the R-390/URR fail the most? I would think that tubes dissipated the most heat would be the least reliable. So I would expect that the 26Z5 and the 6082 would be high on the list of tubes that often fail. Comments?

Hi Perrier,
I did not find it myself: see the attached .pdf.
It works very well: my R-390 and one of my R-390A uses the 12BW4s.
You have to re-wire the sockets (and I even displaced the sockets below the mounting plate to provide more clearance as the 12BW4s are taller than the 26Z5s).
See the pictures: this is my "spare" PSU unit with the 12BW4s on board.

To replace the 26Z5 in the R-390 or R-390A, I prefer the 12BW4 solution.
At $3 each a unbeatable deal!
Great find Jacques
